Blogging about bentos and my garden. I'll use this blog to practice my english. So if you find any odd grammar or words, feel free to correct me :) My bentos are usually not that special. I like vegetables without spices and I don't like sauces that much. Instead I'll try to make them interesting with edible flowers. My garden is feral, but I want to grow vegetables in it like we used to when I was a child. I also grow small vegetables and herbs on my balcony.

A try on tofu #twitterfoodparty #twittertofuparty
I just came back to watching my Twitter timeline when another twitter food party was about to take place. The last time I particpated was fun (and yummy), so I wanted to be in again. Although the theme isn't mine this time.Whenever I make tofu, it somehow isn't satisfying. Tofu without spices is too plain, tofu with spices never really convinced me. I just don't know how to prepare it :(
This time I soaked it in mushroom soy sauce over night. The result: too salty. Still edible, but nothing I would want to eat often. Does anyone have tipps? There's another piece of tofu lying in the fridge.
The rest of the bentos contains rice mixed with quinoa, carrots, beetroot, broccoli, zucchini and chive blossoms and lettuce from my balcony.

Bentos for grandma
It's been a while since I posted here. December was nothing but stress. Too much work, too long time without vacation @.@ And in the new year I wasn't really in the mood for bentos. I didn't have any creativity. Most bentos were just fried rice with vegetables. Healthy, but uninteresting :/
But now I'll try to bring my creativity back. My uncle moved out of my grandma's house, after living there for over a year without paying rent. >_< Well, at least he cooked for her. She isn't interested in eating any more. She doesn't dislike it, but she just doesn't feel hungry. So she doesn't make meals for herself. I decided to make bentos for her. Yesterday she put the bento box into the fridge and forgot it. But she ate it, after I reminded her in the evening. Today she had forgotten about the box when I came and asked her, but the box was empty and she said, she really liked it. Yay ^.^ These are 'our' first bentos:
Lettuce, zucchini, swede, carrots, mushrooms, rice, snow peas, broccoli, cauliflower.
The lettuce is from my own garden :)
Rice, a face made of chives and nori, snow peas, cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini covered with egg, scrambled eggs, kohlrabi, beetroot, carrots, swede.
